THERMAL POWER PLANTSProspects for thermal power plant Dr. Olkhovsky G.G. JSC «All-Russian Thermal Engineering Institute» Measures are specified by means of which profitability of the coal power units ready now for wide application; Technical data and performance parameters of such power unit developed in Russia are resulted, as well as the performance parameters of the coal power unit of the next generation with efficiency about 50% are given. Opportunities of the further reduction of emissions by coal ÒPP are examined. It is shown, that, applying on gas/oil fired TPP combined cycle installations is possible to save 25 - 40% of fuel. Technical data and performance parameters perspective GT and CC technologies and conditions of creation of such installations in Russia, and also an opportunity of the further increase of profitability and ecological compatibility of such ÒPP, with application of gasification of coals in large utilities, in local power - by means of medium capacity GT and CC technologies are considered.
